Found another gem! This shoebox 7 table venue has a splendid menu of all the Thai classics! I ordered the spicy vegetable stir fry! (Vegan in the house!). Orders and pick-ups, people waiting, flying in and out! Splendid!
I always pass by here on my way to the gym hungrily always noting to myself that I should stop by (either here or the taco truck that's always parked out front). We ordered the hainan chicken, papaya salad, tom yum soup and pad thai. I can't say that anything in particular stood out to me but everything was good. I think all of the stronger Thai flavors were a little more mild compared to places that you can find in Thai town that are usually unapologetically strong, but everything was tasty! It seems like a stop and go spot that you can just grab a quick bite at and leave. The food comes out fairly quickly and there were plenty of open tables at 5pm on a Wednesday and it seemed like most of their business comes from delivery apps as people were consistently coming in to pick up orders.
I ordered from Siam Chan for the first time tonight, and I am instantly a huge fan! Generous, delicious portions delivered so piping hot that I had to blow on each bite. That's unusual in delivery, which is often lukewarm by the time it reaches you. Reasonable prices, especially by West Side standards. I ordered basic Pad Thai and Tom Yum Kai soup. Absolutely delicious. It's a Tuesday at almost 10pm, when a lot of restaurants kind of phone it in and give you some calories to eat before bed. Not Siam Chan. This is my new go-to place for Thai. Cannot wait to try the rest of their menu. I was a little concerned because the timing on the delivery app was about 10 minutes off. I called the restaurant, and the woman who answered called the driver and confirmed my order was just a few minutes away. Great customer service. Awesome, and highly recommended. I look forward to supporting this great local restaurant in the future!
Got a DoorDash order of the papaya salad and the Kai Kua. I thought the papaya salad was delicious; extremely refreshing and just spicy enough to give it the kick I expect from papaya salad. Was a bit confused me was that half of the to go box was filled with quartered pieces of cabbage. I'm not sure if I was supposed to wrap the papaya salad in it but it didn't pair the best. Forgive my ignorance if that's how it's supposed to be eaten The Kai Kuo was delicious. The flat noodles were the perfect texture of chewy and there was a good amount of beef, bean sprouts, and green onions. I wish there was a bit more flavor but it came with sriracha which it gave it the extra depth I was hoping for. Overall a good experience, and would like to other things on the menu, especially if I can actually go in the restaurant and have the dishes fresh.
I love coming here for lunch. All the staffs are so friendly and attentive. The food were always great. The place is small but very cozy.
It's a nice place and food is decent. The pad Thai had a lot of sauce. The spring rolls were pretty good with peanut sauce
The short: Great value for the taste and the money. My new Thai standby when I need a Thai fix. The long: This is a true hole in the wall; no frills best describes it. That said, the tables are big and well spaced. The service us quite accommodating. The food: Surprisingly good, at least for Thai aiming for the American palate. I had the yellow curry and steamed rice. It's enough for two people and checked all the flavor and ingredient boxes I would expect. Best of all was the bill, which puts this place in the single "$" category, when most other places on the Westside are "$$" or more. To be clear, this is not great Thai food, and the place on a few blocks west on Santa Monica and Armacost is better, but it also costs a lot more.
